De Haan Abogados is a Dutch-Spanish law firm active throughout the whole of Spain. The partner Jan Willem de Haan of Dutch nationality has been a Dutch lawyer since 1988 and a Spanish lawyer since 1991. Moreover our team consists of Spanish lawyers who are able to communicate in several languages as well as our multilingual administrative staff.

Jan Willem de Haan started his practice 1992 in Barcelona after succesfully finishing his interships at law firms in the Netherlands.

1992 was a very important year for Spain. It was the year of the successful Olympic Games in Barcelona, the World Exposition in Seville and the 500 year commemoration of the discovery of the Americas. Last but not least, it was the culmination of Spain’s entry in the EU. In short, 1992 was the definitive end of the long isolation of Spain in Europe.

In 1999, Jan Willem de Haan and Boris Mulder decided to merge their respective practices and continue as De Haan & Mulder S.L.P. In the same year, they moved into their present offices at Calle Balmes 76, in the heart of the Eixample- area of Barcelona. Because of the tragical decease of Boris Mulder in 2019 the law firm continues nowadays by the name De Haan Abogados.
